Two piece construction, insignia in silver with red and white enamels, mounted to a silver four pointed star base, each star point with eleven emanating rays, maker marked "SPINK & SON Ltd. 5, 6 & 7, KING STREET St. JAMES'S LONDON EST. 1772 MEDALISTS TO THE LATE KING GEORGE VI" on the reverse cartouche plate, measuring 74 mm (w) x 74 mm (h), vertical pinback, chipping and loss evident in the white
